The Bega factory began production in 1900. As demand grew for products made in the traditional way, successive expansion has taken place. Bega Cheese has been a dominant brand in the Australian market for over 30 years in both processed and natural cheddar cheese products. The Bega brand sells around 50 million packs per year to the Australian domestic market and an ever-expanding international market. The Bega brand is Australian made and owned by the Bega Co-Operative Society Limited. Fonterra Brands are the exclusive agents for the Bega brand in Australia.
